The American Sand Sculpting Championship

Fort Myers Beach is a special piece of paradise. It’s a 7-Mile Island lined with beautiful sugar sand beaches, perfect for making intricate, giant sandcastles. We are super excited about the response we are receiving from both the sculptor and spectator communities. We have ten master sculptors and eleven semi-pro sculptors signed up and ready to compete, from more than 10 countries … with more non-competing sculptors as well! The return of this beloved signature event to Fort Myers Beach is a testament to the resiliency and perseverance of this small island community. Even after the challenges posed by all the Hurricanes the community is rising stronger and eagerly anticipates welcoming back its most devoted fans. Hello and Welcome!
We’re thrilled to welcome you to Fort Myers Beach for the 35th Annual American Sandsculpting Championship, sponsored by Florida Power & Light. After a four-year hiatus from 2019-2023 due to the pandemic and the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Diamondhead Beach Resort, The Sand Lovers, and many others, are excited to continue to put on this much-loved event! As President and CEO of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, I’m honored to be part of bringing this world-class, internationally recognized sand sculpting event back to our beautiful island. Over the next five days, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring sculptures created by master sand artists from around the globe. With over 40 unique works of art on display, you’ll be amazed by the creativity, detail, and humor captured in each piece. The festival, held mid-island on Fort Myers Beach, offers the perfect way to spend time with family and friends during the pre-Thanksgiving weekend. Want to get in on the action? We’ve got plenty of interactive activities, including the chance to learn how to create your own professional-quality sand sculpture! It’s a fun, affordable, and family-friendly experience for all ages. Beyond the sand, we’ve got plenty of other attractions to enjoy: over 60 vendors, live music, activities for the kids, and even a special photo op area with a holiday-themed sand sculpture for your family’s holiday card. Be sure to stop by all our vendor booths, where you’ll find unique items and perfect holiday gifts—all while staying right here on Fort Myers Beach. This event wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the support of wonderful guests like you.
