WADE WHEELER

As he has for the past several years Wade is responsible moving all the sand. Wade Wheeler first saw someone sand sculpting while walking on the beach in Jupiter, Florida. Since he loved to draw and sculpt and spent most weekends at the beach, Wade decided to try it for himself. He spent the next 2 years creating sculptures nearly every weekend in the coarse sand of Ft. Pierce, Florida. In 2010, he entered an amateur contest in Siesta Key and, with an oyster fork as his only sculpting tool, won first place! His ambition is to inspire young people (especially his children) to be creative and use their imagination. Wade is a grade tractor and heavy equipment operator, so his motto is “I work in the dirt for a living and play in the sand for fun.”

Wade is from Okeechobee, Florida and started sculpting in 2010.
